Did Dez Bryant lose his drivers license?

Looks like Dez Bryant lost his regular drivers license at some point…

and on June 21, 2012 was granted an order from the court that he was able to apply for an ‘Occupational License’. The last part of the document has a code listed in the Verdict section. The ‘ODLG’ stands for Occupational Drivers License Granted.

If he has since got that license he can

When your license is suspended or revoked (for reasons other than medical issues or delinquent child support) you might be able to apply for an occupational license. It’s a special restricted license that allows you to operate a non-commercial motor vehicle in only three circumstances:

For work
For school
For carrying out essential household duties

You can request one either from the county or district court in the county in which you reside (or to the court of original jurisdiction where you committed the offense that got your license suspended in the first place). You can find more info in the Texas Transportation Code Section 521.242, 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.7.

NOTE: If you are taking part in a special drug court program, you don’t need to file a petition. Your judge can grant you the occupational order.

He had 30 days from June 21, 2012 to obtain the occupational License from the DMV.

I will be contacting the attorney listed here to verify this information in the morning.

This video was posted on Youtube back on May 25, 2012 when a rapper named 2 Chainz was performing in Texas…

So was Dez driving illegally in this video where he’s willing to ham it up while behind the wheel of his Bentley?

Interesting. We will know more tomorrow.

So funny that you posted this! That certain someone that tries to be a Cowboys insider and blurts out false info all over the net (DC Bluestar) was trying to find out the details on the domestic violence incident before the facts came out. She did some kind of internet search and told everyone that the domestic violence incident stemmed from something that happened on June 21st. Then of course, we found out it actually happened Saturday night. Word of caution to those that follow or read DC Blue Star’s info – she puts false info out there! She did the same thing when the Romo baby was born.

This DL thing is something else that piles on with the other negative issues with Dez. I keep hoping it will get better and it doesn’t :/

I don’t get all the hate. Dez is a Cowboy regardless of all his off the field issue’s. You sound like a Cowboys hater and not a fan. Why would you want to see someone go to jail by posting him driving his Bentley. You sound more jealous than anything. Why would you go thru all the trouble and call the attoney? Get a life!

Man, do I miss the days when the only thing reported about athletes had to do with sports and no one gave a fuck about what they did off the field…

Wow….amazing. After reading some of these comments, I’m beginning to understand.

I like Dez Bryant too, but I worry that some negativity is going to happen again to hurt the Cowboys. And it did. The domestic violence is awful. This will continue to tarnish his reputation for years to come. Now a suspended license? I think that if you are caught driving with a SL, you get arrested! That IS a problem!
    PLEASE Dez! NO MORE!!!

DCfanatic you playing in the fantasy police league this year or somthing. He’s a human being,a young rich famous one at that, beleive it or not there is a huge learning curve to that lifestyle. You mean to tell me you never lost your cool before, especially with family! Not like he Chris Brown’d his mother,he got into an argument with her,and she made a snap decision to pick up that phone in anger. Wheres LT,he should be Dez’s mentor, lmao!

I don’t know if any of this is true. I’ve never heard of an “occupational driver’s license.” But that doesn’t matter in the least.

This is what I feared the most. Instead of talking about the Cowboys and how they’re improving, everyone is talking about Dez Bryant and his problems. That is not good. It is a distraction, and it will pollute the locker room. No one wants to go into training camp and be constantly asked questions in every interview about a problem child.

It’s all Dez, Dez, Dez. Dez didn’t pay for his jewelry and sports tickets. Dez was banned from a mall. Dez shows up late for meetings and gets fined six figures. Dez got involved in an altercation at a night club. Dez was arrested for domestic violence. Dez lost his driver’s license. It’s always something with this kid.

And that’s just the off-field stuff. On the field, he doesn’t know the offense, doesn’t run crisp routes, doesn’t show up in the second half, and doesn’t have any meaningful impact on the game when it matters.

Great draft pick, Jerry Jones. Better than Quincy Carter, but not by much.

To me, this whole saga is depressing. We should be talking about the Cowboys winning football games, advancing in the playoffs, winning championships. But, no, we’re talking about some problem child who can’t get his act together on or off the field.

These are your Dallas Cowboys, sports fans. Or, actually, they’re Jerry Jones’s Cowboys. Watch them and weep.
