Miles is not going to talk about Dez Bryant

Miles Austin was asked about Dez Bryant out in Tahoe for the American Century Golf Tourney he’s attending with Tony Romo, read here.

As for this year, Austin agreed, “It’s an important one.” And one important factor will be Bryant. After his arrest, there are more questions. But Austin mostly steered clear of those.

“To be honest with you, I don’t have much information on it,” Austin said. “So, whatever it was… My family has been in town, so I haven’t been up on other things. I’ve been hanging with my family, not really doing much.”

I tried again to elicit a reaction, but Austin said he hasn’t read or heard much about it. He wasn’t going there.

“I didn’t really get the whole thing,” he said. “But I’m sure people are going to… (pauses) The Cowboys will get more details. To be honest, I don’t really know anything about it.

Expected. Nothing good could come from talking about it.

One Response to Miles is not going to talk about Dez Bryant

  1. The Soothsayer says:

This is what I’m talking about. Miles Austin is a class act. So is Romo, Witten, Ware, Ratliff, and a whole host of others. You don’t see trouble like this surrounding any of them.

What disturbs me most is how negatively this impacts the team. Instead of talking about how the Cowboys are improving, they’re all talking about how Dez Bryant is dissolving.

This is not good on any level. The Cowboys need to be focussed on winning football games, winning championships. But now they’re distracted with questions about how some recaltrisant receiver slapped his mother around.

The Dallas Cowboys are the highest profile team in the league. We, the fans, don’t need this shit. We want to see the Dallas Cowboys winning football games, division titles, conference championships, Super Bowls. But all we get is off-the-field problems, and on-the-field problems. It’s getting to be ridiculous.

    Thank you, Jerry Jones.

Hey, it’s not like Tom Landry didn’t have to deal with pot smokers and sex offenders. He did, so did Jimmy Johnson. But this is beyond the pale.

We have no depth at wide receiver, and now our No. 1 draft pick is facing jail time?

These are your Dallas Cowboys, sports fans. These are your Dallas Cowboys. Back in the day, they could away with it, because they won. But today, with all the media attention, they can’t.

It saddens me to see such a great franchise fall to such depths.
