Dez Bryant: A Simple Misunderstanding?

Update: Dez is now not talking to any reporters or TV/Radio shows, read here.

Dez has sunced removed that Tweet however so maybe he changed his mind.

Once again the big bad media is out to get the Dallas Cowboys.

Doocy talks about the misunderstanding and about Lawrence Vickers interview…

Doocy on 105.3 The Fan

When you are one of the guys who people don’t want to promote that you are going to be on their show because they can’t depend on you showing up it’s time to prove to those people that you can be trusted. That’s part of being a professional.

———

Get ready for some tough days ahead as far as stuff going on with the Cowboys over the next few weeks.

But we always have Dez for some interesting stuff even if it’s not CNN worthy news.

Here’s what Mike Doocy of Fox 4 in Dallas tweeted last night…

Here are the next two tweets from Doocy…

Something happened and the end result was Dez Bryant not being on with Mike Doocy.

Dez was going to hang out with Vickers last night…

And Dez’s PR people were in line with Mike Doocy because she retweeted the Doocy tweet…

And Dez did say he would see her later…

So far it seems like Dez is going to meet up at Vickers house and they will see her at the taping with Mike Doocy later on.

Go back and look at the second tweet from Doocy where he says that LaShirl Smith relayed info to him that Dez was going to be on. And then she retweeted the info from Doocy confirming she told him this info.

Dez says he never committed to doing any interview with Mike Doocy…

Now we have had too many situations in the past where Dez has stiffed people on interviews or appearances to count so it’s not far fetched to think he just skipped out.

The problem with doing this is that it’s unprofessional. Before you start looking for excuses for Dez tell me the last time DeMarcus Ware, Tony Romo, Jason Witten or even DeMarco Murray just didn’t show for a scheduled media appointmwnt?

This is during a time where I was starting to buy into the ‘Dez finally gets what it takes to be a professional’ talk that has been floating around for a few months.

Let me finish with this. Maybe this is all LaShirl Smith’s fault. Maybe she spoke and said he would do the interview before asking him. All that is possible. But it leads to the following thoughts going thru my mind once again…

Always something with Dez Bryant.

Until we know the whole story, why pass judgement? There is not always something with Dez; there is always something you and Dez.

You posted this story instead of posting this one from profootball talk:
Dez Bryant has been a good receiver in his first two seasons with the Cowboys, but Tony Romo thinks Bryant is going to be more than just good. Bryant, Romo believes, has what it takes to be great.

Romo told CBS 11 in Dallas that he’s been impressed with Bryant this offseason and believes the best for Bryant is yet to come.

“He just keeps improving and improving. He’s a kid that I enjoy playing with because he wants to get better,” Romo said, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s always asking, ‘Hey Tony, what can I do to be better?’ I love playing with guys like him, Miles [Austin] and these guys. They want to be better themselves and they’re trying to do anything they can to get better. The guys that really want to be great and have that ability to be great, you can’t have enough of those guys. And we got a few of them. Dez is just a great kid like that. He’s getting better and better every week.

I guess Romo doesn’t know there is always something with Dez like you do.

    • Nice try, but if you know this blog and you know the Cowboys then you know the Blitz will be podyed at DC.com soon.

I always wait for the video to come out on these interviews.

So you are clueless. And if you want to start playing editor then start a blog up ASAP. I think dezbryantfanatic.com is still available, lol.

this is so worse than a DUI I mean How can the Cowboys proceed thru training camp with this on there plate….

this is unprofessional if he did agree but he said he didn’t. Maybe since they saw he was going over vickers house that he probably was going to do the interview.

    Cut him…

Yeah, I’m tired of this guy as well. Mostly I’m sick of the overhype around him. Jerry and his mimic-son Stephen both promoted him, as did all the idiot reporters in the so-called sports media.

I’ll believe it when he shows up in the second half.

Randy Galloway, whom I hate by the way, had an interesting article in the FW-ST the other day. His thesis was, don’t believe anything these guys say.

Absolutely, and I don’t. It’s all talk, until they can advance in the playoffs. Anything less than a Conference Championship appearance or a Super Bowl appearance is less than nothing to me. The Cowboys may win or they may lose, but at least get there. This is what I’m talking about.

I grew up watching the Tom Landry Show and the Beutiful Harvey Martin Show. In the 90s, it was like every Cowboy had his own show, even the long snapper.

Today, this guy, Dez Bryant, blows off a media appearance? Show up in the 4th quarter if you want another one.

I’m sorry, Fanatic, but these Cowboys are making me sick. They are not champions. They aren’t even contenders. They’re just a bunch of talked about losers, until they prove otherwise.

Back in the day the Cowboys were called Next Year’s Champions, the Bridesmaids of the NFL. It pissed them off, so they went out there and won. When these Cowboys start playing like that, they’ll win.

    But I remain pesimisticly optimistic.

Omg Soothsayer Can you please get out of the 70’s Those days are over with . Dez has stepped up late in games. I can think of at least 3 games where Dez made big catches to get the team in fg position to win, And 2 punt returns 1 that was called back on a block by Scandrick that got the team in position to win. Romo is telling you guys Dez is improving yet you still want to bash him.

Just by looking at the time stamps you uncover DCFanatics shoddy reporting skills.

The see you later, was not a response to the RT LaShirl Smith made. It’s time stamp is at 5:50 pm.

And it was a response to Smith saying that she would see him at Vicker’s home at 5:48pm.

This retweet didn’t happen until 6:01.

DCFanatic are you that obtuse. Someone points out where you are wrong, and you just delete or not post their comments?

    • Sorry I didn’t run on here and put up your most important comment.

You have no idea what Dez meant with his comment about seeing her later. And why would she be at Vickers house?

She wasn’t. She was at the Fox 4 studio where she tweets later about seeing some people who work there who she hasn’t seen in a while.

Try again dummy. Or better yet. Go back to Shitzone and stay there with ‘this team is the most talented team in the NFL threads’, LOL. Bunch of homers who can’t think for themselves.

Follow the tweets man, it’s a clear line, and it’s not at all what you tried to promote in your article.

LaShirl Smith responds to Dez’s tweet saying that he will be going to Vickers house with see you later on. Whether or not she is going to Vickers’ house is irrelevant and immaterial. Point is she responded to that specific comment, and it doesn’t seem evidentiary to suggest him confirming anything about being on Fox 4.

        • I already proved that she thought Dez would be appearing with Vickers.

She retweeted the Doocy Tweet promoting the appearance.

If she didn’t think Dez was going to appear with Vickers why would she do that?

She wouldn’t. She would instead tell Doocy he had misinformation.

          • Anonymous says:

I think that is the crux of it. She thought that Dez was going to be there, but where does that state that Dez agreed to be on the show? You tried to paint a picture that would suggest there had been confirmation via twitter by Dez Bryant. There is none.
