The Football Show – Podcasts No More – 3 Weeks Before Draft

Strange development. Seems ESPNDallas isn’t fond of me spending hours of my own personal time with no monetary gain to add podcasts of The Football Show to the internet any longer.

The show started over a year ago and I maybe missed three episodes. And by missed I mean cutting up the audio and providing hours worth of podcasting for the fans who missed the show on Saturday afternoons.

Here’s what you saw on the video…

Sure looks like I was trying to promote this site on there right. lol.

Whatever. I will still listen, but most of you won’t be hearing the show anymore. They have maybe added 20 minutes worth of pods to the ESPNDallas site about The Football Show.

The Copyright argument. Save it. No one seemed to mind for the last YEAR AND A HALF and everyone knew where to find the pods. Hosts of the show even told fans to look for it here at times.

From now on I will just play by the rules and link back to the pods at ESPNDallas for the other shows. I am sure that will put the $3.67 back in the pocket of Mickey Mouse that he was losing on advertising.

I hate these situations. Been blogging for about 8 years now. Never been a money maker and never will be. I do it for the love of the Cowboys and getting the stuff to the fans.

End of story.

Those buttheads. I can’t always listen live. I always listened to The Football Show on your blog.

well, From now on, I’ll choose to NOT listen to ESPNDALLAS anymore….and I suggest eveyone email the station and indicate why they won’t listen to their programs anymore…people don’t always have the time to tune in every week to listen to the show and DC provided the show with their promototional logo and or links to listen when fans of the cowboys had the time but since ESPN dallas is so protective of their talking heads content, ala IRAN and other communist nations, I won’t waste my time from now on tuning in to their content!!

  3. West_Coast_Cowboy says:

Agreed, total BS. corporate greed screwing us fans over.

Thanks DCfanatic for the time spent already to get the Cowboys to us on the west coast.

Bastids. Appreciate all the links in the past. They’re the ones losing out by reducing their audience.

I get why ESPN would have a problem but ESPN don’t care till its brought to their attention. Heard them mention DCfanatic on the show then 2 weeks later they wanna stop you from posting the pod, maybe Brian or Tim caught feelings about somthing. Either way this blows!!!

  6. Anonymous says:

Do it anyway! Screw those bastards! What are they going to do send over a little cease and desist letter to try and make you go away. These kind of things really get me upset, why are they so concerned about a harmless little podcast. More corporate B.S.!

  7. The Soothsayer says:

This decision did not come from ESPN, but from its parent company Disney.

    Notice the “Dis” in Disney.

Anyway, keep up the good work, Fanatic. Don’t let these fools bother you.

Concern yourself with the Dallas Cowboys. Because from what I’ve seen lately, you have a lot to be concerned about.

Really sucks. That was good content for the 99% of us who can’t listen to the show live. Thx dc for posting while u could.

  9. Glenn says:

Terrible news! I’m sure they have some legal issue here, but it afforded all those of us from around the country the chance to hear the show. It didn’t do anything positive for their ratings or their advertisers, so it has little purpose for them to afford you the ability to post the clips. Just a real shame! Don’t be deterred by them, but we will all miss having that on your sight!

    • Glenn. When you hear/watch something you like what do you do?

You talk about it with friends and you find out when you can hear/watch it next time.

They are not one time episodes. Many fans were introduced to the show on here and then started listening to the live shows on Saturday.

Word of mouth will always be a huge part of advertising.
