The Football Show: Broaddus vs Parcells – Who ya got?

This had me laughing all afternoon. I do hope Parcells comes back just to hear Broaddus talk about him all season long.

Hilarious. Said Parcell’s has an ego problem. I love Broaddus, he doesn’t sugar coat anything.

  2. The Soothsayer says:

Yeah, this cracked me up too. Broaddus really hit the nail on the head, if only because the essential element of humor is that it must be true.

My only quibble would be that I wouldn’t compare Parcells to Hamlet. Hamlet was indecisive, but he wasn’t corrupt. I would have compared Parcells to Iago, a truly venomous liar.

The bottom line is this. Parcells has never won as much as a playoff game without Belichick. And that is a fact. So all this pontificating about what a great coach Parcells is has no basis in reality.

“Honest Iago,” oh yeah he was a great friend to Othello, talked him in to murdering his wife. Parcells will talk an owner into murdering his team. Anyone seen the wreckage in Miami lately?

So Parcells won two Super Bowls in New York, with Belichick, a couple of decades ago. So he took the Patriots to the Super Bowl, with Belichick, and lost. So he took the Jets to the conference championship, with Belichick, and lost. (Belichick took the Patriots to the Super Bowl by himself and won three times. Rex Ryan took the Jets to the conference championship twice and lost, but at least he got them there twice.)

Parcells accomplished nothing in Dallas–one 10-win season and a first-round playoff loss does not a HOF career make. Parcells accomplished nothing in Miami, other than to leave ruin behind.

Broaddus is exactly right. This is all about Parcell’s inflated ego and the money he can swindle that he can use to blow at the track, nothing more. Oh, and the stupidity of the pundits and ring kissers.

Woe to he who listens to Iago.
